A lot can happen in an instant. At the beginning of August, if you told me I’d be sitting on the floor of my new apartment in Dallas, I would have probably politely smiled while thinking “This person doesn’t know what they’re talking about”. But, life comes at you fast, and here I am, sitting on the floor of my new apartment in Dallas (because I have yet to get any furniture), typing about my net worth.
I started my new job on August 24th. I initially planned to pick up my equipment, work, and explore Dallas to get an idea of where I would want to live. What actually ended up happening was that I picked up my equipment, quickly realized there was a slim chance of getting it all on an airplane to go home, and frantically began my search for an apartment. I still worked the (past two) weeks, explored Dallas, and extended my Airbnb and rental car almost another week later. So yeah, life comes at you real fast.
In those respects, it’s no surprise to me to see what happened to my net worth this month. I think that’s part of the reason that this is one of the latest times I’ve posted my net worth. I was scared to actually see the numbers. But, it’s time to face the music. As of September 3rd, 2020, my net worth is
-$3,592
That, dear reader, is over a $1,000 jump (fall?) from my last net worth post, and I’m scared it’s going to get a little worse before it gets better. I have to furnish my apartment, and the holidays are coming up. I’m committed to staying out of debt, but I’m going to be stretching myself, at least for the rest of this month.
I’m gonna bounce back from this! I have a good feeling about the month of September. We can start off rocky and still rise.
