When I was calculating my net worth this month, I
was nervous. There were some times when I went over my budget, used credit cards
when I shouldn’t have, and I was generally thinking I was going to see an
increase in my overall net worth. Well, dear friends, THERE WASN’T! As of
October 31st, 2019, my net worth is
-$13,
341!!!
The thing is that my net worth number DOES hide some things. Two of my credit card balances went up. 🙁 But, because of traveling for Professional Development, I got paid a little more that I was expecting, and I’ve been very aggressive paying down my higher interest rate cards. So even though I had some fall backs, I’m proud I keep getting back up. I can’t wait until this number reaches 0.

Briana Francois
Briana Francois is an aspiring producer, a public transportation advocate, and a laugher; some would call that a triple threat. She is passionate about many things. One of her biggest passions is representation in television. Briana believes that every person has a story, and that story is worth telling. She sees improving representation in television as a way of allowing marginalized people to see themselves as major characters in their own lives, not just side characters in the lives of others. By uplifting those in the margins, we ultimately become better citizens of the world.
Briana is also passionate about ending the cycle of poverty through education. In 2018, she joined Teach for America and worked as a High School English and History teacher in rural Alabama. When she’s not working towards her career goals, Briana enjoys making goals in her planner, cooking new recipes, learning about managing money, and developing her own TV schedule to avoid binge watching.
