November 2020 Net Worth

Y’all, y’all, y’all! I’m writing this FRESH off the high of calculating my net worth and seeing a HUGE improvement. This month, I mentioned in my last post that this month was my first experience getting three paychecks, and it got me really thinking: what would it take for me to be debt free before 2020 is over? It would take a lot of hustling, a lot of long hours, and maybe, potentially, the chance of burnout. However, seeing myself SO CLOSE to a positive net worth makes it seem…almost worth it? I’m going to spend this week revisiting the paydown plan I made for myself. I want to stay sane, but now I’ve got some momentum, and I don’t want to let off the gas.

I’m still adjusting to being in a new city and staying a little cooped up during the pandemic. One moment this month, I kept kicking myself because I regretted moving to Texas so soon. I thought about how much I could be saving if I wasn’t renting, how I would be able to have a bigger support system at home, and how maybe I should’ve at least gotten a roommate. On the other hand, I love living somewhere new and being able to explore. I love feeling independent, and I had to lean on some friends to remind me that hindsight always feels 20/20, even if it isn’t truly. I’m here. I’m learning, and I’m growing. That’s important to me. Do you see that? Do you see those three numbers? We are so close baby! My biggest focus this month is to focus on my investing rate. I want to calculate it and make plans to increase it. The more I can get into the market early, the better.
