Wow, it feels like soooo long since I’ve posted, but in reality, it’s only been a month. I think that’s mostly because July was a pretty eventful month for me. On a (semi-) whim, I road tripped from Georgia to Oregon. Along the way, I encountered multiple check engine lights and acquainted myself with auto repair shops across the country. It was a real struggle, but I made it. I had a lot of unexpected expenses as you can see (I posted these on my new instagram Briana’s Money, but I wanted to share a bit of my car saga here as well.)

On the bright side, I got to see my Emergency Fund in action. I’m glad I started building it, but now it seems like I’m back to square one.

Another big July happening was that I accepted a job offer! I’ll be working in Dallas. Although I’m not 100% sure when I’m going to move because of coronavirus, I’m really excited about the new chapter about to unfold in my life, and I’m pumped to make moves in my career. Before I start on August 24th, I’m hoping to take some time before I start to relax, refresh, and prepare for my new job. I’m also hoping to SAVE before I get ready to move. With all that being said, as of August 2nd, 2020, my net worth is

-$2,353!

Whew, it’s nice to see that number go down when I know that my debt went up (by less than $100, but still). This is a reminder to keep pushing and keep fighting my debt. This month (or more likely next), i get to make a new budget based on getting a bi-weekly paycheck! I also started a challenge to save 5K in 5 months. Hoping to keep up the positive money moves!
