I was so tempted to make an April Fool’s Net Worth update and say my net worth was $1,000,000, then I decided I’d make my own self sad. So, instead, you’ll get the real deal. March was a tumultuous month. As the United States began to take coronavirus seriously, things kind of descended into chaos. At the beginning of the month, I was set and excited for my spring break trip to San Francisco, and by the end of the week, the trip was cancelled. I think Covid-19 is putting a lot of things into perspective, not just finances, but the state of our healthcare and just how interconnected we all are. It’s pretty amazing to watch things unfold like we’ve never seen them before.

That being said, I’m actually curious to see how this has affected my own net worth. While I expected it to stay relatively stagnant due to my anticipated spring break trip spending, I may have saved more. I also may have spent just as much as I would’ve by stocking up on groceries. As of March 31st, 2020, my net worth is

-$8,203!

Um, WHAT! I was not expecting to see this much of a change! I think this is due in part to getting my paycheck before the end of the month. I’ve also been being EVEN more aggressive about paying down my old cards since I got a new card. I also know, that I unfortunately did not achieve one of my New Year’s goals of paying off my credit cards by March. However, it’s coming! I’m sad to be inside and not going on trips I planned, but, to try and look on the bright side, I think Covid-19 will force me to save a lot of money in April. Until then!
