Okay, I know I’m not the first person to say this, and I know I won’t be the last, but quarantine sucks. I don’t like staying home, I don’t like feeling like I have to be “on” and connected all the time, and most of all, I don’t like not knowing when this will end! It feels like it’s been forever, and with some taking stay at home and shelter in place orders more seriously than others, it feel like it will keep going on and on and on.
The silver lining was supposed to be that being home would help me spend less money, but nope! Except for gas, I think I’ve spent about the same across the board, especially with the urge to online shop being even stronger than usual. Luckily, I’ve been pretty good at talking myself out of the KitchenAid Mixer, and the ice cream maker, and the Jeni’s ice cream pints (though I know I’ll break down). With all that being said, my net worth is still moving in the direction I want. As of April 30th, 2020, my net worth is
-$5,857!
Woop, woop!! I’m so happy to see this number. What you don’t see is the fact that my debts didn’t change a ton (about $1,000), but I’ve been trying to save a lot more because of the coronavirus, so my Emergency Fund is thankful, and that stimulus check helped! Hopefully, I can keep fighting off the urge to panic spend an keep this going. Here’s to a money saavy May!
